Although notable progress has been made over the last 20 years, 16 million girls will never set foot in a classroom (UIS). The UNESCO Prize for girls’ and women’s education honours outstanding innovation and contributions made by individuals, institutions and organizations to advance girls’ and women’s education. It is the first UNESCO Prize of this nature and will be unique in showcasing successful projects that improve and promote the educational prospects of girls and women and in turn, the quality of their lives. Hivi karibuni kumekuwa na taarifa mbalimbali zisizo rasmi kuhusu hali na mwenendo wa Mfuko wa Taifa wa Hifadhi ya Jamii (NSSF). Baadhi ya taarifa hizo zimekuwa zikieleza kwamba mali za Mfuko huo zimetumiwa vibaya na hivyo kuathiri mafao kwa wanachama. Taarifa hizi zimesababisha hofu na taharuki miongoni mwa wanachama wa NSSF na wadau wa Sekta ya Hifadhi ya jamii kwa ujumla kwa kuhofia usalama wa wa fedha na mafao yao. Mamlaka ya Usimamizi na Udhibiti wa Sekta ya Hifadhi ya Jamii (SSRA) inapenda kuwaondoa hofu wanachama wote wa Mfuko wa NSSF na Wananchi kwa ujumla na kuwahakikishi kwamba Mfuko wa NSSF upo katika hali nzuri kifedha na unaendelea kulipa mafao ya wanachama kama kawaida. Kama mnavyofahamu, Mkurugenzi Mkuu wa Mfuko alikwishateuliwa na anaendelea na majukumu ya kusimamia shughuli zote za Mfuko.
