HOW TO GRAB AN OPPORTUNITY AND BECOME RICH PROMPTLY
James Makini who was on his way to Selous Game reserve to get an experience of life in the wilderness, suddenly changed his mind and he decided to go back to Dar es Salaam to accomplish a mission.
He made a quick decision to establish a business of buying fruits from Mkuranga District and sell the products in Dar es Salaam.
He was so anxious to start the new business that he could not wait until when he got back from the Game Reserve!
What prompted James Makini to cancel his trip to Selous Game Reserve and go back to the City?
James is an Engineer working with Prime Construction Company, a very famous construction company which is based in Dar es Salaam.
He normally takes his annual leave in July every year.
Apart from using part of his leave days visiting the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, he spends the rest of his leave days just visiting friends and relatives.
This year James decided to visit the famous Selous Game Reserve to have a view of elephants, lions, giraffes etc
While he was driving his car towards the Game Reserve, he saw crowds of people in Mkuranga District lining the highway peddling various fruits packed in buckets, boxes, tins etc.
When he inquired about the fruit’s prices, he was really surprised. The fruits were being sold at throw away prices. Each bucket full of oranges, bananas, mangoes and sweet bananas was priced at Tshs 1,500 - 2,000.
James imagined that he could sell a bucket of oranges for as high as Tshs 10,000 in Dar es Salaam and make super profit!
In Dar es Salaam a single orange sells at Tshs 300-500!
Of late, James has been reading a lot of stories in the Internet about individuals who saw opportunities come in their way; and they grabbed them and became rich instantly.
One entrepreneurial tip he got from the Internet discussed about decision making, which stated that:
As an entrepreneur you are responsible for your business and no one can make decisions for you. Researches on many successful entrepreneurs disclosed the fact that every one of them had the habit of reaching decisions promptly, and of changing these decisions slowly, If and when they were changed. People who fail to accumulate wealth have the habit of reaching decisions very slowly and of changing these decisions quickly and often
IT IS THIS TIP THAT PROMPTED JAMES MAKINI TO MAKE A DECISION PROMPTLY TO ESTABLISH A BUSINESS VENTURE WITHOUT DELAY
When James got back to Dar es Salaam, he had a conversation with his friend, Charles Makeke who was also very enthusiastic about the idea of establishing a business of buying and selling fruits
James Makini and Charles Makeke decided to register a company that will be involved in the business of buying and selling fruits.
DO YOU THINK THIS WAS THE RIGHT DECISION THAT WAS TAKEN AT THE RIGHT TIME?
Let me hear your views regarding the two guys’ decision to establish a business venture promptly
